Accessibility Statement
Our goal
Limsley wants every visitor to be able to view the work and contact the gallery. Our goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
Measures taken
- Every page can be used with a keyboard, starting with a “Skip to content” link.
- Links, buttons and form fields show a visible focus outline.
- Every artwork image has a text alternative naming the work, its catalogue number and the view shown.
- Form fields have labels, and form results are announced to screen readers.
- Black text on a white ground throughout, with secondary text above the 4.5:1 contrast ratio.
- Animation is minimal and switches off when your device is set to reduce motion. Nothing plays automatically.
- Tap targets are at least 44 pixels tall, and text is never smaller than 12 pixels on phones.
- The image viewer and the interiors slideshow work with arrow keys, and the Escape key closes the viewer.
Known limits
- Imagined interiors are digital renderings that show a work at scale in a designed room. They are decorative visualizations, labelled “Imagined Interior” and described by their captions and text alternatives, which cannot convey every detail of the room.
- Text alternatives identify each artwork and view but cannot fully describe a work of visual art. We are happy to describe a work in more detail on request.
- The signup and inquiry forms need JavaScript. Without it, please contact the gallery by email.
- Links to Instagram lead to a third-party site whose accessibility we do not control.
